Veterinary Technician Nursing Academy (VTNA) is an accelerated program that is designed to educate individuals, three time faster and at much reduced cost than that of traditional programs, on the basic concepts and principles of veterinary medicine, in order to prepare each student to successfully pass the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE). VTNA offers and meets the educational requirements, under the California Alternate Route. (cc&r 2068.5), to sit for the VTNE. For admission into this program the qualified applicant must have 4,416 hours of documented directed clinical practice under the direct supervision of a California licensed veterinarian.
Each course is designed to provide the knowledge needed to enable students to pass the VTNE. VTNA encourages individuals to learn as well as practice skills in their workplace under a licensed California veterinarian or registered veterinary technician (RVT). The faculty follow each student’s progress very closely and offer virtual Live office hours each week, as well as personalized hands-on training at All God’s Creatures Teaching Hospital & Surgery Center in El Cajon, California to complete the required task list. VTNA will also coordinate with selected licensed California veterinarians or registered veterinary technicians (RVT) to complete the clinical portion of the training.
The VNTA utilizes an on-demand state of the art web-based learning platform that can be accessed on any device connected to the internet, using any network, at any time or place. The platform requires no add-on hard or software components and is commonly accessed on personal computers or smart phones. Lessons are arranged so that students can digest and study the material at their own pace although a program syllabus and timeline are provided and strictly adhered to the allotted 9-month time frame.
The success of our students in passing the VTNE and continuing a rewarding career in veterinary health is our highest priority. Students will not only be exceptionally well prepared for the Veterinary Technician National Exam, but they will learn important qualities such as quality care, respect, and compassion for their patients and the families who love them.
